Ahlchemy Snap Open the booth

Terms

Last changed 1 August 2026

These are the terms on which Ahlchemy Author Company provides Ahlchemy Snap. Using the booth means accepting them. They are written plainly on purpose; where a plain sentence and a clever one disagree, the plain one is what we mean.

What you get

A licence to use the software for as long as your subscription is paid, on as many devices as you and the people you have added to your account operate. The licence is yours to use, not to resell, sub-licence or repackage as your own product.

What is yours

Everything you make with it. Photographs taken at your events, layouts you draw, frames you design, backgrounds you supply and every arrangement of them belong to you. We claim nothing over them, we do not use them to advertise, and we do not train anything on them.

You can take them with you at any time. Setup → Advanced writes the whole booth to a single file, in an ordinary zip anybody can open — deliberately, so that leaving is never something you have to ask permission for.

What is ours

The software itself, the name, the marks, and any layouts, frames, backgrounds or props supplied by us. Add-ons bought from us are licensed for use in your own events, including events you are paid to run. They may not be resold, given away, or included in anything you sell on.

What you are responsible for

What we are responsible for

Making the software work as described, keeping it running, and telling you plainly when something is broken. We will not pretend a limitation is a feature.

What we cannot promise

Software that runs on your tablet, your network and your printer at somebody else's venue is not something anybody can guarantee. We do not promise the booth will be uninterrupted or free of faults, and we strongly recommend testing your whole setup before an event rather than at one.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it. We are not liable for lost profit, lost custom, or photographs that were not taken. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Sending a photograph to a guest

A booth can offer to email a photograph or to text a link to it. Both are at the guest's own request: they type their own address or number on the booth's screen and ask for it. Neither is offered unless the operator has turned it on.

One message per photograph. No marketing, no list, no second message. Every text says Reply STOP to opt out; replying STOP stops them at once and for good. Message and data rates may apply — that is between a guest and their carrier.

A text carries a link rather than the picture, and that link expires when the photograph does, thirty days after the event. An email carries the photograph itself.

Whoever runs a booth is responsible for the guests in front of it, including not entering somebody else's address or number on their behalf. We provide the means; the consent is theirs to obtain and it should be obtained by letting them type it.

Questions about either: [email protected].

Paying

Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid for. If a payment fails we will tell you and try again before anything stops working; see refunds for what happens then.

Stopping

You can cancel at any time and keep using it until the period you have paid for ends. We can end an account for non-payment, or for using the software to break the law or to harm somebody. If we end yours for any other reason, we will refund the unused part.

After an account closes, take your file first — Setup → Advanced. We keep a stored library for 30 days afterwards in case of a mistake, then remove it.

Changes to these terms

We will tell operators in the app before a material change takes effect. Carrying on using it afterwards means accepting the change; if you would rather not, cancel and we will refund the unused part.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Missouri, United States, and its courts.

A note while this is in draft

This is a careful draft, not legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. The postal address and the legal entity still need filling in, and the limitation of liability, the governing law and the consumer-rights position all need checking against where you actually trade before you take a payment.
